In 2016-17, we were awarded a £10,000 health grant to help children develop good healthy living habits. During terms 4, 5 and 6 we took part in a number of activities to raise children's awareness of healthy eating and the importance of exercise.
During February half-term we had some new balance equipment installed in the playground, and new 'Heart Line' markings painted onto the bottom playground. As the children move around the Heart Line, they are encouraged to take part in a number of different exercises. There will is also a solar panel clock installed so they can time themselves!
We arranged for a number of different people to come into school and work with children in all classes. These included cooking demonstrations, taster sessions, activity sessions, parent information sessions and we also booked a national athlete to come and talk to the children about their sport and the importance healthy eating played in their achievement.
As this project developed, photos and videos were added to this page so that you can see first hand what they children have been experiencing.
