"Respect, Persevere, Succeed"

Year 6 Residential Trip June 2017

We shall endeavour to update the gallery and diary on a daily basis.

Wednesday, 7th June

The children have had another brilliant day and the sun shone for most of it. They have tackled the low ropes course, built buggies, designed new products for dragons den, tackled their fears on the zip wire and showed great teamwork on the Jacob's Ladder and obstacle course. In the evening we went to the beach for games and to build sand castles. The children have enjoyed the call and repeat songs that all the instructors sing and have quite a few new ones to share with you on their return.

Tuesday, 6th June

This morning the children enjoyed using the swimming pool and then thankfully the sun came out. We have enjoyed outdoor activities for the rest of the day. The children have had to conquer some fears to tackle the balance beam, climbing walls and 3G swing. They all enjoyed laser tag and are now strutting their stuff in the disco! All the instructors have commented on the children's good behaviour and their manners.

The children all slept well and were up early, ready to start the day. They were particularly impressed with the choice of breakfast and that they could have bacon as well as cereal and toast! They are spending the morning swimming and then have a variety of activities planned for this afternoon including climbing, laser quest and a disco. Unfortunately, the weather is not on our side so we are having to be very flexible with the timetable. However, the centre staff are being very helpful and have ensured the children still have plenty to keep them busy.

Monday, 5th June

We have had a safe journey and smooth crossing. The children have had a tour of the site, made and flown rockets and taken part in a mini Olympics. They have enjoyed a good dinner, evening cocoa and a piece of birthday cake. It has rained a lot but spirits are high, even if we are a little damp! Hopefully, photos will follow tomorrow, technology permitting.
