EYFS Hub Information
Purpose of the Hub
The primary goal of the Early Years Hubs for Excellence is to support and enhance the diverse early education options available in East Sussex.
EYFS Hubs create regular opportunities for schools, preschools, childminders, Children’s Centres, key partners, and the Local Authority to collaborate within their local areas. This ensures that:
- All children can access early education providers rated at least "Good" by Ofsted.
- All children achieve optimal outcomes from their early education.
- All children enjoy consistent and, whenever feasible, seamless Foundation Stage learning.
The Crowborough Hub
The Crowborough Early Years Hub serves schools in Crowborough and the surrounding villages and is coordinated by Laura Selby and Bethan Long from Rotherfield Primary School.
The Crowborough Hub aims to provide training, networking, and collaboration opportunities for schools, preschools, and childminders to enhance outcomes for all children in our settings. Throughout the academic year, we will hold various activities, including training and moderation sessions. The topics for our meetings and training will be determined collectively to address the needs of both children and staff. Training meetings will occur in terms 1, 3, and 5 at different locations, while moderation meetings, in collaboration with the Crowborough and Wadhurst Moderation Group, will take place in terms 2, 4, and 6. Additional training opportunities may also be available alongside regular meetings.
All EYFS practitioners are warmly invited to participate and share their insights. For more information, please contact us at lselby@rotherfield-cps.e-sussex.uk or blong@rotherfield-cps.e-sussex.sch.uk.
