Spelling: Details of spelling patterns and focus words for each week will be sent home via a Seesaw update.
Reading: It is vital for the children to read regularly at home, both independently and aloud to an adult. Regular and varied reading has been proven to be one of the greatest indicators of success across the curriculum.
Maths: It is crucial that children have fluent, automatic recall of all multiplication and division facts in order to access the Year 6 maths curriculum and beyond. Daily practice on Times Tables Rockstars builds - and, for children who already know their times tables - and maintains this automaticity. |

Useful Information
We expect that reading books and school bookmarks are brought into school every day. The bookmarks will be checked regularly to ensure that the children are reading regularly at home. In KS2, children are responsible for changing their own books when needed. Once your child has moved beyond the colour banded books, they are free to choose their own reading material either from the library at school or from home. The children will have weekly lessons focussing on reading comprehension skills, with those who need extra support reading frequently 1:1 with an adult.Useful Websites
