Yr 2 beach visit
The children of Newton class had an amazing time at Ovingdean Beach with Thea and James from The Sussex Dolphin Project. They learned about tides and built tidal towers, created land art and went rock pooling.
They saw first hand the habitats of different sea creatures and had a big show and tell afterwards about the creatures that they found, including welks, spider crabs, shrimps and strawberry anemones.
Sadly they found rubbish in the sea too and could relate this to earlier lessons about polluting the sea and the dangers to ocean life
