Welcome

I am immensely proud to welcome you to Rotherfield Primary School, East Sussex. I hope that our website will give you a sense of what a warm and welcoming school we are.

Rotherfield Primary School’s strengths lie in its caring and nurturing environment, dedicated staff and governors, and above all the determination of our pupils to succeed.

Rotherfield Primary School is a one form entry school, and we have capacity for 210 children across 7 classes. The children are allocated one of our four house teams upon admission for intra school events and competitions.

We are a friendly, caring school with high expectations for all our pupils. Our children are encouraged to explore, discover and question through a range of exciting learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. We have recently started to develop a Forest School, with a fully trained teacher, and dedicated area in the local woods. Our staff work hard to provide a safe, calm and stimulating environment where good behaviour and mutual respect is modelled by everyone and where everyone is valued.

We encourage teachers to take learning outside the classroom and make good use of the surrounding countryside. Each class also participates in a number of trips to enhance their theme work; these trips vary from historical, natural and industrial locations. Our Year 6 children spend a week in away together at a residential activity centre where they are encouraged to work together, learn new skills and challenge themselves away from home, supported by several school staff.

We see our pupils’ time at Rotherfield Primary School as the educational foundation of their lifelong learning journey, and we want them to leave us as confident and enthusiastic learners. We also want our pupils to remember their time at Rotherfield with great fondness, with memories of life enriching experiences and enduring relationships.

Please do contact the office on 01892 852574 or email office@rotherfield-cps.e-sussex.sch.uk to arrange an appointment to come and view our wonderful school.

Thank you for visiting, I hope that we shall see you soon.
